AISST/MAIA Workshops
Every semester, AISST and MIT AI Alignment (MAIA) collaborate to run weekend workshops on AI safety. We gather students, professors, and professionals working on AI safety to discuss and collaborate on the cutting edge of AI safety research and policy.
Joint AISST and MAIA workshops, where members and intro fellows discussed AI alignment and interacted with researchers from Redwood Research, OpenAI, Anthropic, and more.
-
The students who attend the workshops are generally either members of AISST or MAIA, or recent alumni of the Introductory Technical AI Safety Fellowship or the Introductory AI Policy Fellowship run by AISST and MAIA.
-
We run a mix of technical-focused and policy-focused workshops throughout the year. This Fall, we expect the workshops to be more focused on technical AI safety but still contain some policy-focused sessions. We expect to run an AI policy workshop in the Spring of 2025.
-
The workshops will take place over the course of two weekends in the middle of the semester.
-
We run multiple workshops due to space constraints. Participants can attend at most one per semester.
-
The workshops start Friday evening and end Sunday afternoon. The main activities are talks, small group discussions, and research sprints. Participants are encouraged to attend the whole workshop but we can accommodate minor scheduling constraints.
